Telling the Stories of Charlottesville and Albemarle

The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau markets the city and county to visitors year-round. We've worked with them across a range of engagements: an aerial library covering the region, full-day coverage of a tourism industry conference, and mini documentaries and sizzle reels built around local activations and events.

A destination marketing organization doesn't run one campaign a year. It needs footage on hand, coverage when something happens, and a crew that doesn't have to be re-briefed every time the job changes shape.

Core Brand Region Aerials

CHAPTER 1 - CVILLE TO THE BLUE RIDGE

Iconic aerial photo and video covering the range of the region across seasons — city views, the Blue Ridge, vineyards, and Crozet. Each color graded and delivered in 4K, with unlimited usage so CACVB can pull from the library indefinitely without re-licensing.

CHAPTER 2 - A CONFERENCE IN A DAY

A full day covering a tourism industry conference: two videographers, a two-camera interview room running alongside the program, and B-roll across the entire event. The interview setup had to work without interrupting the conference itself, and the people in front of it were partners and stakeholders rather than talent.

Delivered as a highlight film and a complete stringout of every interview, so CACVB keeps the raw material as well as the cut.

CHAPTER 3 - PEOPLE, PLACES, EVENTS

Two event recaps, each built around interviews with people who didn't know they'd be on camera that day. One for the Juneteenth edition of Fridays After Five in downtown Charlottesville, one for the Monticello Gold Cup wine event.

Man-on-the-street is the least controllable footage there is. No booth, no lighting setup, ambient noise you can't turn down, and a stranger who has about four seconds to decide whether to talk to you. Both recaps run on those interviews rather than around them, which only works if the people in them look like they wanted to be there.

We’ve worked with Nite4Nite on a range of different projects, from scenic drone imagery for commercials targeting visitors to day-long tourism industry conferences with multiple setups and interview staffing.

The Nite4Nite team is always incredibly prepared for both the technical needs of the project, bringing the right equipment and thinking through logistics, as well as the project elements where they interface with important partners and stakeholders. Their ability to bring a vision to life allows us to tell the stories of Charlottesville and Albemarle County through strong visuals and compelling interviews, and we’ve received so much positive feedback on the videos they’ve delivered for us.
