Twelve riders from around the world set off across one of the planet’s least-traveled frontiers: Kyrgyzstan. What begins as an adventure ride quickly becomes a test of endurance, brotherhood, and purpose. 33 Parrots is currently in the 2026/27 Film Festival Circuit.
A Test of Mentality and Machinery
Over eleven days and 2,273 kilometers, a motorcycle expedition club crew crosses a landscape of staggering extremes, glacial rivers, deserts, and high-mountain passes like the legendary “33 Parrots.” Storms batter them at 4,000 meters, engines fail in the dust, and every decision carries weight.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Kyrgyzstan isn’t the kind of place you end up by accident. It’s raw, unpredictable, and doesn’t care about your plans. I was hired as a single shooter to “find the story” on a motorcycle expedition through a country I could barely spell. No script, no safety net, just twelve guys on beat-up bikes chasing something that felt a little like freedom and a little like madness.
What we found was a strange kind of magic. One minute we were racing storms at 4,000 meters, the next we were sitting on a dirt floor sharing tea with families who had every reason not to trust strangers- and doing what we could to help. Somewhere between the breakdowns and the belly laughs, I realized that’s the point. You go looking for adventure, but if you’re lucky, you find something better: people worth riding for.

We are the studio wing at Nite4Nite Productions, We are a small group of creatives, developers and producers based out of Charlottesville, VA and Brooklyn, NY who like to create and pitch content. Eric Stumpf is a Virginia-based filmmaker and co-founder of Nite4Nite Productions, a creative studio specializing in cinematic storytelling across film, documentary, and commercial work. With a passion for gritty realism and striking visual composition, Eric’s work often explores the intersection of adventure, identity, and human resilience. His projects range from narrative shorts and feature films to branded and humanitarian documentaries. 33 Parrots – A Two-Wheeled Journey Through Remote Kyrgyzstan continues his pursuit of stories that live at the edge of the map, and bring audiences a little closer to their own.
